FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes stress reduction, relaxation, and overall well-being. The word "Reiki" is made up of two Japanese words - "rei" which means universal, and "ki" which means life energy.
REIKI PROMOTES THE EASY FLOW OF YOUR LIFE ENERGY AND BLOCKAGES CAN CAUSE 'DIS-EASE' IN THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT
What can I expect from a Reiki distance treatment?
Distance Reiki demonstrates the interconnectedness of energy across space and time. In this unique form of energy healing, Reiki energy is sent to the recipient, regardless of their physical location.
The process of Distance Reiki involves the practitioner tapping into the universal life force energy and directing it towards the intended recipient. This energy is not limited by physical boundaries, making it possible to send healing energy across any distance.
How is reiki for animals different?
The principals of energy healing are exactly the same for all living things including people, plants and animals.
I practice the Let Animals Lead form of Animal Reiki taught by Kathleen Prasad that respects animal agency and choice in their healing journey and allow them to lead the session.
Preparing for a Reiki session
I will arrange for us to talk either via telephone, zoom or face time on Whatsapp before and after the session.
Make sure you are comfortable either sitting or lying down and warm perhaps under a blanket.
You might want to turn the lighting down or use a soft lamp, light your favourite relaxing candle or oil and put on soft relaxing music if that's your preference
Then simply take a few deep breaths, relax into your body and close your eyes
I will text you to let you know the session is finished and contact you for feedback
After a Reiki session
It is a good idea to slowly open your eyes and come back into the room in your own time
Stay warm and hydrated with water or tea afterwards
Plan to relax and do little for the rest of the day to allow your body to feel all the benefits
Some people can feel a bit tired or headachey or emotional after a session. This is normal after a healing treatment and will pass quickly.
Preparing animals for a Reiki session
Animals are very sensitive and intuitive to energy healing and need no preparation! I will arrange for us to talk either via telephone, zoom or face time on Whatsapp before and after the session.
Is Reiki a religious practice?
No, Reiki is not tied to any specific religious beliefs and can be enjoyed by anyone from any religious or non religious background.
Is Reiki a substitute for medical treatment?
No, Reiki is a complementary therapy and does not replace conventional medical care. It is important to consult with healthcare professionals for health issues.
How long is a Reiki session and how much does it cost?
